Are you using any AI podcast tools?
Here are a couple that I use.
I’m going to be transparent here: AI podcasting tools scare me. The main reason being that it’s going to end up replacing at least some, if not a good majority, of the editing work that I do in the future.
However, there are some tools that I have been using and while they aren’t perfect, they do help move things along.
The first one I’ve used a little is Adobe Podcast. I’ve used their enhance speech feature when I have some audio that just isn’t quite where I want it to be. It’ll remove noise and echo. I do have some plug-ins that do the same, but unfortunately the plug-in companies aren’t always great at keeping up with whatever OS I’m on. So this is a good alternative when I can’t get a particular plug-in to work in Premiere, Logic Pro X, or Pro Tools.
The one tool that I’ve been using the most is Chat GPT. One of my clients suggested that I use it to create the show notes and descriptions for his podcasts and social media posts.
I will say that my biggest pet peeve with Chat GPT so far is that even when I specify how many paragraphs or sentences I want, it always gives me more until I tell it a second time.
That said, it does at least give me a good starting point to work with and I can edit the show notes faster that way rather than combing through the episode outline manually to pick out the highlights.
I’ve been hesitant to dive too deep into too many AI tools, but Descript is the last one I want to mention for today. They seem to be leading the charge with the amount of tools they’re offering under one subscription.
They offer and audio enhancement tool called Studio Sound (which Adobe Podcast’s enhance speech is similar to). The one I’m most interested to try once I start making more videos again though is Eye Contact. This adjusts your eyes when you glance away from the lens and makes it look like you never looked away.
I will admit, I’ve really only used Descript for their transcription feature and deleting filler words. It was pretty buggy when I was using it more regularly (1-2 years ago), but the experience has improved over time and I’d recommend it for anyone who wants multiple features under one subscription. It just makes life easier.
I applaud the people who are fully embracing AI and trying out way more platforms than I have. Maybe I’ll get to that point one day, but that day is not today.
If you have any AI tools that you’re using and enjoying on a regular basis, I’d love to hear from you. Feel free to hit reply if you’re reading this in your inbox or contact me here.
